Hi, my name is Matt Ball. I am a high school social studies teacher, primarily US History and AP Human Geography at Osbourn High school in Manassas, Virginia.
Upon graduation from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Geography, I student taught at Eppler Junior High School in Utica, Michigan. After receiving my teaching certificate in 2006, I moved to Virginia (what a great place to enjoy the history of our country!). Today I live in Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington, D.C. I enjoying going in to the city to soak up the history (and take some pictures while I'm at it, including those in the banner).
This is my sixth year teaching at Osbourn. At OHS, I have taught World History I, World History II, World Geography, and US/VA History, and AP Human Geography.
I married my wife (and fellow teacher at Osbourn) back in July of 2009 back at MSU. This past March, we had our first child and are enjoying every moment of parenthood.
I also pursue my passion for baseball at Osbourn. I am the Head JV and Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach for the Eagles.
In August of 2011, I completed my Master of Arts in Education from MSU and I am currently training to become a professional developer of the Strategic Instruction Model through the University of Kansas.
